I myself am still recovering from this cold - I spent a bit of the night on the edge of the bed coughing my head off. Hope I'm not keeping up the neighbors. I'm sure they all know I'm home!

I'm Awake

I finally crawled out of bed after a day and a half of sleeping! I've been feeling horrible with cold/flu symptoms. It started as a head cold and quickly spread to my throat and chest. I generally felt like someone had hit me repeatedly with a Mack truck. This morning Gertie said "OK, time to get up and get moving." Really she just wanted me off the bed so she could have it all to herself. I still have quite a bit of unpacking to do, but things are moving along slowly. I'm excited to get some of the new frogs up for you to see.

I'm glad I left the east coast when I did. It was worth driving through an ice storm to dodge 2 feet of snow! While they're digging out I'm looking to enjoy some 40 degrees here today at Frog Central....

Frog Central - Home at Last

Gertie and I pulled into the old homestead last evening. Gertie refuses to lay down in the car and sleep, so she was sitting there with her head dropping, her eyes closed. I pulled into the driveway and she looked up and got all excited - she knew we were home and she was getting out of the car! I've only brought in the essentials - I still have a trunk packed fully packed that has to be brought into the house yet. Today I've been running around getting the mail restarted and going through a ton of mail that was waiting for me. I've had to make a lot of phone calls to straighten a few things out. A couple more things and I should be caught up. I've also had the computer doing its automatic updating and running automated scans all morning. It finally says that it's all done and ready to use!

In the midst of all this I'm trying to get over a bad cold that's lingered for about a week now. I'm pushing a lot of liquids and getting as much rest as possible - speaking of which I think Gertie and I need a nap.....

On the road to Frog Central

The car is packed, the gas tank is full, and the goodbye's have been said. The first thing in the morning I'm heading back home to Frog Central. I'm hoping to dash between an ice storm in the Cleveland area and one that is supposed to hit here tomorrow night.

I've been sick with a cold and as much as I would like to just crawl in bed and pull up the covers for the next week, I really need to get home - and I've got a lot of new frogs to play with! One set especially I think you're really going to like......

Gertie's New Bobo

Driving in the Snow

Yesterday afternoon Dad and I went out to run some errands - it was snowing pretty heavily and sticking to the roads. I began to wonder if we'd make it home! A few small errands took quite a bit of extra time, but finally we pulled into McDonalds, right down the street so dad could get a soda. It was with a sigh of relief we finally made it back to the house. We ended up with just a couple of inches of snow, but it drifted with some high winds - making Gertie's outside trips a whole new experience. The snow was almost as tall as her in spots. She had great fun hopping around - seeing how much snow she can shovel with her nose!

Second Snowiest February on Record

And that snow is keeping me at Frog East for a bit longer than I originally had planned. More snow is in the forecat here for the weekend so I'm going to wait until next week to start home. If I left tomorrow, which was my original plan, I'd be driving all day Saturday in snow and ice mix - no thanks. I'd rather stay a little extra time and know that when I got on the road I was going to be safe.

I've been on a Valentine's Day candy high since Sunday. Hope you received a nice big candy heart too.

This is the Oreo Springtime Cookie frog design that I was telling you about. It was the last cookie in the package! And delicious as well. I need a glass of milk now......

Last night I opened a package of the new Springtime Oreo cookies - with 5 designs! One of the designs is a frog! I'm trying to get a picture - but I keep eating the cookies.....

Valentine's Day is coming

Valentine's Day will soon be upon us. And my time here at Frog East is coming to a close. I'll probably start back to Frog Central this next week as long as the weather holds. I've finished up much of all I wanted to do while I was here and it's been great spending time with family.

So snuggle up this weekend and enjoy!

Snow!

The forcast is for about 8 inches of snow here at Frog East! Gertie may enjoy it, but I sure don't. I guess I'm just lucky that we're a bit farther north than the brunt of these storms. Washington is getting socked. I think they'll probably work better being closed down anyway.

Geneology research has eaten up much of my time this last week. It's been interesting to locate much of the great, great-great, and great-great-great grandparents information. One branch of our family has been heavily researched and stretches back to about 850 A.D.!

Hope you all are having a great couple of weeks - if you are in frog withdrawal, please check out past entries. As I've said, we've got a lot of new frogs to go through once I'm back at Frog Central. As it looks now, I'll probably be heading back sometime next week.

A Very Busy Week

I can't believe that it's been a whole week since I last posted. Things have been very busy here at Frog East. We've spent a couple days digging into geneology and finding some interesting stories. We've traced things back to the end of the 18th beginning of the 19th century, but have hit a bit of road block. We're not giving up though.

A lot of time is spent with my dad, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. It's tough to watch someone who was so vibrant lose their faculties. This is the second time that we've dealth with it in the family. It never gets easier.

Mom and I have been scouring catalogs and are placing an order for more frogs - pretty cute and quite unique.

The snow that hit Washington and the middle of the country bypassed us here entirely - by mere miles! It's still really cold, but Gertie and I, who have settled into a routine here, are starting to look to the ride back to Frog Central. Not sure exactly when we'll be leaving to head out, but it will probably be soon.
